Instagram Insights connection guide

Use this guide to connect Instagram Insights to Stract. Important: Stories data is only available in Instagram Insights for 24 hours after a Story is created. This means that you will need to use the “Concatenate instead of overwrite” setting in Google Sheets to add this data to your reports.

Before you start

To connect Instagram Insights to Stract, you need to ensure that your Instagram and Facebook accounts have a specific set of permissions:

Instagram permissions

Your Instagram account must be:

• An Instagram Business account (sometimes called a “professional account”) or a Creator account that uses Facebook authentication and is not restricted, age-restricted or private.
• The account must be linked to an active Facebook page that has been claimed. Here’s how to add an instagram account to Facebook.

Facebook permissions

Your Facebook account should:

• Be a Facebook user account with View Page Performance and Create Ads permissions. Administrator access to the page is not required, but will also work.
• If you’re using the new Pages experience, the account needs full control access to the Facebook Page linked to the Instagram account.
